Progressing Cavity Pumps (PCP)

This is the most efficient method of artificial lifting which is initially used to produce sand-laden oil, but nowadays, with the advancement of technology, the scope of its operation has been extended to the lighter oils.
In this method, a spiral rod (rotor) is located eccentrically inside an elastic spiral chamber (stator) and connected to a surface electric motor through narrow rods.
When the engine is turned on, the rotor rotates inside the stator and, by generating a relative vacuum in the closed compartments between the rotor and the stator and transferring the kinetic energy to the fluid, generates the well fluid through the increase of fluid pressure.
